My new addiction

Those of you who know me from years back, will be aware of my coffee addiction.  Back when I wrote Every Now and Then, I was on 20 cups of filter coffee a day.

And not much sleep, it must be said.

Even recently, during my time working at The Death Star, caffeine was a basic fact of life for me.  Not any more, though.  One cup, first thing in the morning, is all I need.

How, you may ask, has this triumph, this TV-movie-of-the-week, been achieved?   Why, by ingestion of green and fruit teas.  I am addicted.  Typing this is probably the longest I’ve gone without drinking any.  Okinawan Gunpowder tea (with jasmine, if that’s ok),is like low-grade speed.  I can’t give up.

I won’t give up.  The day they even think of banning it, is the day I take an automatic rifle round a shopping precinct with me.   Now, if you’ll excuse me, the kettle’s just boiled.
